Porsche's LETHAL WEAPON
The 964 RS or “RS 92” is Porsche's new lethal weapon. Everything unnecessary has been removed, while the engine and chassis have been optimized for resolutely sporty use... The RS is available in 3 versions : “light”, “touring” and “Clubsport”. Modifications include thinner windows than on a Carrera 2, except the windscreen, and the aluminum front hood, which no longer has jacks but a stand to hold it open.
Nothing UNNECESSARY
Inside the cabin, armrests and pockets have disappeared to make way for an almost bare panel, opening handles have been replaced by a fabric strap, electric windows have been replaced by two good old-fashioned cranks, and the same goes for the mirrors. The front seats have been replaced by Recaro bucket seats weighing just 4.5 kg instead of 25 kg. All comfort equipment has disappeared from the cabin. The model on display, in its GrandprixWeiß livery, is a Touring version (M002). It has clocked up over 200,000 km and has been in the hands of its current owner for over 15 years !
