944 TURBO CUP
Porsche democratises RACING
In 1986, Porsche decided to offer its customers a unique experience : access to a real racing car, for a limited budget and easy operation. The result was the 944 Turbo Cup, intended for a single-brand championship organised in several European countries.
It was derived from the production 944 Turbo, but lightened and optimised, and designed from the outset for endurance, regularity and performance. With this initiative, Porsche is returning to the spirit of customer competition that made its reputation in the 1960s and 70s, but in a more modern, more rational and above all more accessible form.

Track-SPECIFIC
Under the bonnet, the 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine is increased to 250 bhp, the most powerful engine ever fitted to a 944 at the time. Thanks to its reduced weight, reinforced running gear, short gearbox, limited slip differential and 928 S4 brakes, this version offered the road holding of a homologated racing car.
Some models (notably the German ones) were even lighter, with manual windows and the removal of equipment to reduce weight to around 1,280 kg.

Making an IMPRESSION
The model presented at Timeless Classics is one of the most exclusive thanks to its highly recognisable ‘Silver Rose’ colour, named for its unique exterior hue : a silvery metallic pink combined with a tartan ‘Studio Check’ interior that leaves no one indifferent.
The Silver Rose (LM3Z) colour was exclusive to this special series, as was the interior with its typical 80s check pattern. The contrast between raw performance and bold aesthetics has made this model a cult among collectors. The Turbo Cup badge and specific competition-related elements further reinforce this strong identity.
