The culmination of the MIURA MYTH

Unveiled at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show, the Lamborghini Miura P400 SV represented the ultimate, most accomplished and most desirable evolution of what is often considered the first true supercar in history. The brainchild of talented young engineers such as Giampaolo Dallara and Paolo Stanzani, and shaped by the visionary pencil of Marcello Gandini at Bertone, the Miura shattered automotive conventions with its V12 engine mounted transversely in a central rear position - a revolutionary configuration at the time, which would later become the norm for exceptional sports cars.

The SV version, for ‘Super Veloce’ (Super Fast), takes the concept to the extreme. Not content with just more power, it benefited from crucial technical improvements and refined aesthetic developments that made it more powerful and stable, as well as more comfortable and reliable. Produced in just 150 examples between 1971 and 1973, the Miura SV epitomises the golden age of Italian motoring - a time when advanced engineering and stylistic passion came together to create rolling works of art. Few cars today still evoke such intense emotion and enduring fascination.

A remarkable STORY

Lamborghini Miura SV chassis no. 4938 is an especially remarkable example of one of the most iconic supercars in automotive history. Completed on September 10, 1971, this SV left the factory in a unique and striking color combination that it still retains today.

It was factory-equipped with rare features for the time, including air conditioning, a radio, external mirrors, and power windows, a popular option by the final production run of the Miura SV. Originally delivered to Canada, the car remained in the country until 1989, when it was acquired by its current owners showing just 15,340 miles on the odometer. In 1992, it was imported to Europe, where it became part of a private Lamborghini collection. For over three decades, it was preserved in static display, carefully maintained but not registered for road use.

In 2023, the car underwent a mechanical overhaul service to return it to full running condition, all while preserving its remarkable originality, including its entirely original interior. It was first registered in 2024 under the name of its current owner and made its public debut at the prestigious St. Gerlach Lamborghini meeting.

As of today, the car shows approximately 16,400 miles, reflecting its exceptionally limited use over more than five decades. Miura SV no. 4938 stands out for its outstanding authenticity, low mileage, and clear provenance, making it a truly exceptional representative of Lamborghini’s golden era.

The only element that does not conform to its original specification is the conversion of the headlights to the Jota version.
