Strong EVOLUTION

The Alpine A310 is often regarded as the worthy successor to the A110, offering a more modern and comfortable approach. While the early versions were perceived as underpowered, the introduction of the wide kit on the 4-cylinder models dramatically transformed both the image and performance of this French sports car.

Introduced in 1971, the Alpine A310 was designed to succeed the iconic A110 while aiming for a more premium market. Initially equipped with a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine from the Renault 16 TS, it struggled against its competitors due to a lack of power. However, in 1976, the introduction of the PRV V6 engine gave the A310 better performance and greater recognition. Despite this, the 4-cylinder versions were not abandoned and continued their production with successive improvements, notably the adoption of the wide bodykit. This kit, inspired by competition models, brought a new dimension to the car, enhancing both its aesthetics and handling.

A radical TRANSFORMATION

The wide kit for the Alpine A310 4-cylinder features flared wheel arches, allowing for a wider track and bigger wheels. This new look, directly inspired by rally models, gives the coupé a more aggressive and commanding presence. Under the hood, the 4-cylinder engine also received some enhancements. Depending on the configuration, power could reach up to 140 horsepower, providing much more dynamic performance than the early versions. Combined with a lightweight chassis and excellent weight distribution, this modified A310 gained agility and efficiency on curvy roads.
